Our team is excited to welcome Catherine Robertson to the For-Sight family! Catherine joins our fantastic Technical Support Team, led by Iain Mackenzie, as a Technical Support Specialist – Second Line.

We know our customers have unique needs. That’s why we have a dynamic and robust technical support team to support them with For-Sight’s Hotel CRM and Marketing Platform. This new role helps our team better serve our customers – now and in the future!

Meet Catherine Robertson

Catherine grew up in a “tiny wee village” in the Scottish Borders, later moving to Edinburgh for university. Travelling is a big passion of Catherine’s, and after completing university, she spent time travelling and working in New Zealand, Canada, Italy, Austria, and Belgium. She then moved to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where I studied for 3 years. Catherine moved back to Scotland in 2022 and is very happy to be home, building a countryside life in East Lothian.

In her former role as a policy officer for a small third sector organisation, Catherine was invited to give evidence to the Equalities, Human Rights and Civil Justice committee in the Scottish Parliament. She spoke to MSPs about why gender equality must be central to Scotland’s National Outcomes.

“I am very passionate about the rights of women and girls and the pursuit of gender equality. We have so much work to do and progress to make.”

How does Catherine fit in at For-Sight?

Although she has a strong background in policy, Catherine has since retrained in IT and cyber security, and is looking forward to helping address complex technical issues and drive improvements in our support processes. We asked her what attracted her to For-Sight and this role:

“I decided to apply for For-Sight as it was clear from the outset that this company values its employees, their learning and development, and working together collaboratively.”

We’re thrilled to support Catherine’s development as an IT professional. For-Sight prides itself on a powerful product supported by an even better team. So, what does Catherine bring to our team?

“I can contribute to For-Sight’s culture by encouraging open communication and strong teamwork. By actively listening, sharing ideas, and offering support, I’ll help build trust and transparency across the team. My collaborative approach ensures that everyone feels valued and aligned, strengthening the inclusive, flexible, and positive culture that For-Sight champions.”

In the time that Catherine has been in the role, she’s already proven to be a great fit for the For-Sight team! We asked our Manager of Technical Support, Iain Mackenzie, how Catherine is settling in and here’s what he had to say:

“Catherine has been a lovely addition to the team, eager to learn and quick to volunteer to help wherever she can. She has picked up skills and knowledge at an impressive rate and takes on responsibility like a champ. I’m very excited to see where this role takes her.”

Outside of the office

When Catherine isn’t hard at work, she likes to be out and about, going on galivants to nature reserves, bird watching spots, and historical places with her fiancé. She also enjoys reading, crocheting, baking, and kayaking!

Catherine has been all over the world, but where’s next on her bucket list? We asked Catherine where she’d most like to travel to.

“I really, really want to go to South Korea. I was meant to go in August 2020, but then of course COVID happened. I would love to see Seoul, especially the convenience shops and try all the Korean BBQ places. My fiancé did his university exchange in South Korea, so it would be amazing to see where he lived and re-live some of his memories from there.”

Just for Fun

If you could learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be?

“I would love to be fluent in Dutch – it would make communicating with my soon-to-be in-laws much easier.”

If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would they be?

“Taylor Swift – to be fair, I’m not sure how much of a conversation it would be, it would just be me losing my mind. I have been a die-hard Swiftie for 17(!) years.”

What is one interesting fact about you that not many people know?

“I played violin in high school and my favourite club was the ceilidh band.”

What is your favourite way to unwind after a long day?

“Playing my Nintendo Switch – currently playing Super Mario Galaxy.”
