About Gavin’s background
Gavin grew up in Ayr on the southwest coast of Scotland before moving to Glasgow nine years ago. He studied Philosophy at the University of Glasgow before obtaining a degree in Psychology and Business at the University of Strathclyde.
With his educational background, we had to know what his life philosophy was.
“Only focus on what you can control.”
We think this is a good motto for life and even better to keep in mind for business! For For-Sight, focusing on what we can control looks like giving our team the best tools and opportunities to level up their skills and become the best they can be.
A top-notch team means we can deliver the best product and service. We don’t just sell Hotel CRM software and leave you to figure it out yourself. Our team is here to help with account setup, training sessions, and educational resources to ensure you’re getting a good return on your investment!

From Philosophy to Technology
From philosophy to technology, that’s a big shift! We asked Gavin more about his work experience and what attracted him to the industry.
“I worked at an IT solutions provider called Softcat for 2.5 years, so I had already developed an interest in the technology industry. It’s an ever-evolving landscape which is becoming increasingly important in the commercial world, so it’s easy to get excited about.”
In the two and a half years that Gavin worked at Softcat, he cites some of his most significant achievements as graduating from their Sales Development Program in under six months and applying his learnings to exceed his sales targets.
Gavin’s ability to take initiative and jump right into the action made him an excellent addition to our Customer Success team.
How does Gavin fit in at For-Sight?

Our team loves Gavin for his proactive, can-do attitude, but what drew Gavin to join For-Sight’s Customer Success team? Here’s what he told us:
“I was attracted to the role at For-Sight because of the opportunity to become more specialised in looking after customers within the hospitality industry to ensure they are getting the most out of their marketing efforts & maximising ROI as far as possible.”
Our Manager of Customer Success, Josephine Harrold, had a lot to say about how Gavin is contributing to the For-Sight team!
“With a background in strategic account management and the software supplier world, Gavin’s already helping us level up with a more consultative, value-led approach to how we support our customers — and it’s making a real difference.”
Gavin is already bringing high value to For-Sight, but how can our team best support him? He said that he values good communication and opportunities for collaboration in the workplace.
“An atmosphere conducive to shared learning is important to me. As internal teams and as a business as a whole, we should be bouncing off each other well and sharing insights.”
So, is the For-Sight team living up to his expectations? Gavin gave us a glowing review! He says it has been very easy to fit into For-Sight’s culture and get along with the team.
When he’s done for the day, Gavin loves being active and enjoys running and playing rugby! You can also catch up with him at the pub over a pint of Guinness, Gavin’s drink of choice.
Just for fun…
