Job Title:              Technical Support Engineer

Type:                     Full time, Permanent

Reporting to:      Lead Developer

Salary band: up to £30,000

 

The Role

Are you Familiar with Microsoft .Net (Core/5+/Framework) technologies, particularly C#? Do you have a practical understanding of Microsoft Azure and working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are developers of hospitality- focused SaaS solutions, looking to appoint a Technical Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is based in Edinburgh, with some opportunity to work remotely, we are also flexible about the days/ hours.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Technical Support Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Debugging customer and application issues in production.
  • Liaising with client service teams to provide timely updates to customers.
  • Identifying functional and non-functional defects in production applications and databases.
  • Specifying resolutions to production defects and coordinating with development and product teams.
  • Collaborating and contributing in a team-centric environment.
  • Positive contribution to team meetings, activities and initiatives.
  • Technical support for the For-Sight web application, databases and integrations.
  • Feeding into the technical resolution of recurring issues.
  • Identifying manual processes which are candidates for automation.
  • Identifying cost and performance enhancements in the cloud infrastructure.

For-Sight Software are developers of hospitality-focused SaaS solutions, including our For-Sight CRM and Marketing solution which allows hoteliers to get a full understanding of their guests, enabling them to personalise & streamline the entire digital guest experience.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Technical Support Engineer are:

  • Familiar with Microsoft .Net (Core/5+/Framework) technologies, particularly C#
  • Working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server.
  • Practical understanding of Microsoft Azure, especially logic apps and functions, blob storage
  • Proficient in debugging software applications via Microsoft Visual Studio or other suitable IDE applications.
  • Must be motivated, goal-oriented and able to take ownership of their responsibilities and that of the team.
  • Be an excellent collaborator and communicator, able to work effectively with not only their direct team, but also with the larger cross functional group.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
  • A willingness to learn and grow through training, certifications and as guided by senior/lead developers.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related technology field, or demonstrable level of relevant experience.
