Job title: People & HR Manager

Reporting to: CEO

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year

The Role

Do you have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or similar, coupled with high level knowledge of HR practices and sound knowledge of employment law? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are developers of hospitality- focused SaaS solutions, looking to appoint a HR Manager to work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and support a talented, growing team working within a positive and progressive company culture.

The successful candidate will help evolve HR initiatives, policies and procedures. They will provide generalist HR support and advice to line managers and employees, ensuring an excellent service is offered at all times.

This role is based in Edinburgh, with some opportunity to work remotely, we are also flexible about the days/ hours

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a People and HR Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide pro-active HR support to our People managers and employees on HR activities including but not limited to performance management, recruitment, learning and development and employee relations.
  • Responsible for HR Administration.
  • Work with the SLT to develop our workforce planning strategy to enable and support our growth plans.
  • Develop and deliver our HR services ensuring that all areas are operating effectively and provide a great employee experience.
  • Support SLT & other managers to create an inclusive employee culture to attract and retain the best talent during a planned period of high growth, for both remote and onsite employees.
  • Support SLT & other managers with HR projects in areas such as reward, change management, learning and development and internal communications.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the PDR process runs effectively to agreed timelines and that the training needs of the team are met.
  • Support SLT & other managers to implement bespoke career and development roadmaps for the team.
  • Create and maintain effective mechanisms for employee feedback.
  • Salary benchmarking and recommendations.
  • Onboarding, induction and off-boarding processes to ensure every employee has the best experience whether they are joining or leaving.
  • Create and implement HR initiatives that support a brilliant experience at For-sight throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Support SLT & other managers in the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and systems. Includes working with For-Sight’s current ISO9001 and ISO27001 accreditations.
  • Manage and monitor employee engagement through metrics, ensuring appropriate actions are taken where required and liaising with managers.
  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations issues in accordance with legislation identifying and mitigating any risks.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with HR issues as required, ensuring documentation is up to date and factual.
  • Ensure contractual information is up to date with legislative requirements and amend accordingly.
  • Deliver presentations to line managers/employees as required on HR topics, for example, appraisal, absence management, discipline.
  • Manage the recruitment process where appropriate, providing guidance on interviews, feedback, correspondence.
  • Prepare monthly reports on HR statistics as required.
  • Develop strong relationships with relevant managers and personnel to ensure delivery of a credible, value adding service.

For-Sight Software are developers of hospitality-focused SaaS solutions, including our For-Sight CRM and Marketing solution which allows hoteliers to get a full understanding of their guests, enabling them to personalise & streamline the entire digital guest experience.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a People and HR Manager are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • CIPD qualified or working towards is desirable.
  • High level knowledge of HR practices with a sound knowledge in employment law
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently.
  • Able to establish good working relationships with people.
  • Able to motivate others to reach company goals.
  • Demonstrate good decision-making skills.
  • Evidence of being customer focussed.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Good analysis skills.
  • Commercial focus.
  • Experience of working as part of a team within a high growth business (particularly growth from 35 to 100 people) is preferred.
